In 2011 I was a call-centre guy in Bangalore who couldn't read the newspaper fluently. Over fifteen years I became a content designer, learned to coach behaviour, and was named Frontline Leader of the Year for a presence method I ran for teams of 800 to 1,000.

Every skill I picked up, it turns out, was training for one thing — I just didn't know it. What I learned: you can't lecture a person into change. You change the environment, and the behaviour changes on its own.
